TON Foundation appoints former Visa director as Vice President of Payments
The TON Foundation has appointed Mr. Nikola Plecas, former director of Visa, as Vice President in charge of payments. He will lead TON's global payment strategy, including managing partnerships related to applications on the TON platform and Telegram, as well as the legal compliance strategy.
Plecas stated that the goal is to promote the development of payment infrastructure, improve user experience, and optimize the conversion process between fiat and cryptocurrency. Previously, he held several senior positions at Visa Crypto, including the role of head of the cryptocurrency division for the European region.
He will work closely with CEO of TON Foundation Max Crown – former co-founder and CFO/COO of MoonPay. TON is currently a Layer 1 blockchain integrated with Telegram, with a market capitalization of Toncoin reaching 7.5 billion USD.
