The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency: Banks can buy and sell the encryption assets they hold in custody at the request of customers.

On May 8, according to CoinDesk, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) continues to change its previous opposition to the application of Crypto Assets in the banking industry, issuing a clarification letter stating that banks can buy and sell the Crypto Assets they hold in custody at the request of customers. The latest policy statement released by the OCC this Wednesday also clearly states that banks can outsource Crypto business to third parties, including custody and execution services. As long as these activities meet the safety and soundness requirements of regulators, the OCC will grant banks more freedom in encryption.
