Reddit user claims ChatGPT initiates conversations based on historical message inference.
Odaily planet daily news in a post on September 15th, a Reddit user named 'SentuBill' claimed that ChatGPT, a large language model (LLM), initiated a conversation by asking how his first day of school went. Based on the provided dialogue, ChatGPT can infer that this is the user's first day at school from their previous interactions with the program. The large-scale language model also indicates that these features are part of a new upgrade. Official chat logs from ChatGPT confirm the authenticity of the dialogue posted by the user. On September 13, 2024, OpenAI released a preview upgrade of the highly anticipated smarter model to some users. OpenAI stated that these new models will have reasoning capabilities and give ChatGPT the seemingly magical ability of 'thinking before answering.'
