U.S. SEC Highlights 3 Cryptocurrency Investment Opportunities in "Project Crypto" = Bitwise

## Predicting in Response to the Vision of the SEC Chairman

Matt Hogan, Chief Investment Officer of the cryptocurrency investment firm Bitwise, mentioned three promising investment opportunities on the 5th, following the new vision of the chairperson of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Mr. Hogan pointed out that the main factor that has hindered the revolution of cryptocurrencies and blockchain has been the strict regulatory environment, but that has turned 180 degrees. He then mentioned the following three promising investment opportunities against the backdrop of Mr. Atkins' speech.

• Ethereum (ETH) and other layer 1 blockchains that support stablecoins and tokenization
• Super apps provided by Coinbase, Robinhood, and others
• DeFi applications

First, considering the future where all assets will be issued on the blockchain, it is important to emphasize the investment in the blockchain that supports it.

While Ethereum is currently the strongest candidate in this field, due to the unpredictability of the future, it is recommended to adopt an index-based approach to purchase multiple assets together.

In addition to Ethereum, it proposes a basket approach that includes assets such as Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA), XRP, Avalanche (AVAX), Aptos (APT), Sui (SUI), and Near (NEAR).

Next, it was mentioned that there is a significant opportunity in the rise of financial "super apps." The background is that Mr. Atkins has revealed his vision of allowing broker-dealers to seamlessly offer trading, staking, lending, and other services for both cryptocurrencies and traditional assets, paving the way for a comprehensive platform.

Mr. Hogan pointed out that Coinbase and Robinhood are moving towards the direction of "super apps" that provide such comprehensive services. He expressed the view that with the support of regulators, either could ultimately become the world's most valuable financial services company, with a market capitalization exceeding $1 trillion.

Thirdly, Mr. Hogan pointed out that DeFi applications have been in a regulatory gray area and have not been explicitly permitted or prohibited until now. Despite this, he continued, the major decentralized exchange Uniswap recorded a trading volume of $88 billion (approximately 13 trillion yen) in June, the highest ever.

In the future, as regulations evolve, the usage of such applications may increase several times, and DeFi tokens like Uniswap's UNI may also generate significant value.
